Six steps from a photo to a stencil that prints at the size you locked. The photo never leaves this device.

1. Photograph the spot

Straight on, even light, 1x camera. Wide-angle lies about size. Or start with the sample arm.

2. Choose the design

Pick a flash drawing, or upload the artist’s linework. The background is removed so only the ink sits on skin.

3. Place it

Drag to move. Pinch to scale and rotate. Wrap follows the arm. Ink sets how heavy the line looks. Mirror flips it left to right.

4. Lock real size

In Size, choose a known length — a card’s long edge is 85.6 mm — then tap the two ends of that length on the photo. The chip switches from “not locked” to millimetres.

5. Print at 100%

Download the PDF. Turn off fit-to-page. The 50 mm bar on the sheet must measure 50 mm with a ruler. If it doesn’t, the printer scaled it.

6. Mirror once, then transfer

The file is already mirrored for carbon-down transfer. If the thermal printer also mirrors, turn Mirror off or lettering comes out backwards. Proof with an R. On skin: thin stencil solution, tacky not wet, don’t stretch the paper.

Detailed guide

A photo of a drawing on paper is fine — the light background is removed. Next, open Place and sit the design on the skin.

  1. Photograph the spot. Straight on, even light, 1x camera. Wide-angle lies about size.
  2. Choose the design. Tap a flash drawing or upload the artist’s linework. The paper background is removed.
  3. Place it. Drag to move. Pinch to scale and rotate. Wrap follows the arm. Ink is only how heavy the line looks.
  4. Lock real size. A card is 85.6 mm long and 54 mm short. Tap the two ends of that length on the photo.
  5. Print at 100%. Do not fit to page. The 50 mm bar on the sheet must measure 50 mm.
  6. Mirror once. The file is already mirrored. If the printer also mirrors, turn Mirror off and proof a letter R.
